Le Space Belege
Collect receipts, match payments, hand over a DATEV package — pre-accounting for your small business, entirely without the cloud: everything happens on your own computer, and the books stay encrypted on your device.
Open source, on purpose
- Built in a few weeks — with substantial AI assistance. That is exactly why we publish Belege as open source, under the AGPL-3.0: anyone can use the app for free, develop it further independently, and share those developments with everyone.
- And if building is not your thing: we gladly take on adaptations, customisation and automation — as a service.
No cloud
- The books live only in your browser, encrypted with a key your passkey creates anew each time you unlock. There is no account, no password, and no copy with us — we run no server.
- Account transactions come straight from your bank: German banks over FinTS/HBCI, with Hibiscus on the Jameica platform — no middlemen in between. For European banks under PSD2, Enable Banking is implemented but not yet field-tested. A small bridge on your own computer makes this possible; it also talks to the accounting mailbox, customer portals, exchanges and wallets, and nothing of it leaves your machine.
- Receipts are kept locally and archived decentralised and encrypted — sealed with a key from your passkey, stored on Aleph Cloud. Only you can open the archive, and an empty browser gets everything back with the same passkey.
Hosted on IPFS — the proof, and how to verify it
The app itself is served from IPFS — there is no server of ours behind the PWA, and that is checkable: the latest deploy publishes the IPFS hash (CID), and the same app over a public IPFS gateway is the same, byte for byte.
If that matters to you: with your own IPFS node (Kubo) or the IPFS Companion extension, your browser fetches the app straight from the network — then not even the visit to belege.le-space.de can be logged anywhere. Entirely optional.
Crypto transactions
Every crypto movement becomes a booking in euros at the day’s rate, with its source named — ECB, Kraken, CoinGecko, Uniswap pools, the trade itself, or by hand. Swaps and migrations are followed across chains, and everything exports in an open, MIT-licensed ledger format.
Supported today
- Blockchains
- Bitcoin, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum One, OP Mainnet, Polygon, Monero, Filecoin (USDFC), Akash, Nym (Nyx)
- Exchanges
- Kraken (read-only)
- Decentralised archives
- Aleph Cloud — encrypted, via the OrbitDB Storage Bridge
More on request — gladly.
AI, only on a click
- Your model, not ours: Le Space runs no AI and sees none of your data. The bridge asks the language model you configure.
- Our recommendation: a local model (Ollama, LM Studio) — or a TEE-hosted LLM whose attestation can be verified.
- Every button that asks the model carries the ✦ mark, the text goes out redacted, and usage and cost stay in view.
Who it is for
Small businesses and the self-employed — especially when crypto is involved: income in coins as well as spending in utility tokens, say for Filecoin, Akash or Aleph services. The monthly DATEV package goes to your bookkeeping software or your tax advisor; the actual posting happens there.
Set-up and adaptations
We set Belege up with you — bridge, bank access, accounting mailbox, customer portals, your own language model — and we build adaptations: further blockchains and exchanges, special cases, and automation of business processes, like invoicing straight into the books over UCEP. This is a paid service; write to us.
Still early. Keep storing your statements and receipts somewhere else as well.
